Alms? Should we do it?

Well, the debate of whether to contribute or not was being conducted within myself was never over… I used to be the guy, who used to do it, but sometime back when the debate started, I never did give alms, as the debate was never won conclusively!

What do you say smashedkey? Should we or shouldn't we? Or is it an opinion of one and does not depend on whether others do it or not?
